On the edge of the Adirondacks
Known throughout New York as both “The Gateway to the Adirondacks” and “The Snowshoe Capital of the World,” the tiny town of Corinth is clearly a popular vacation destination throughout the year. But for the close-knit residents of this small rural town north of Albany, Corinth is much more than a weekend getaway. “Corinth offers so many recreational opportunities throughout the year,” says Richard “Rick” Gargiulo, a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson with Sterling Real Estate Group. “It’s very close to Saratoga Springs, Glen Falls and the Adirondack Mountains, so people in Corinth are constantly outside.”
A town center surrounded by mountains
Most of Corinth’s available homes are between Highway 9N and the Hudson River, which forms the neighborhood’s eastern border. Corinth’s streetscapes are wide and mostly flat, with clear views of the nearby Adirondack Mountain Range. The existing homes consist of historic Victorian and colonial homes – tastefully renovated with updated kitchens and hardwood floors – and wide three-bedroom ranch homes with attached garages. Corinth has seen a recent increase in new builds, particularly along the banks of the river, creating opportunities to purchase a move-in ready home with a deck overlooking the water. “New builds are helping alleviate the lack of inventory in places like Corinth,” says Gargiulo. “These new builds provide a fantastic opportunity for first-time home buyers to break into the market, and they also allow more established homeowners to customize a property that fits their exact needs.” Home prices in Corinth are far less than the state average, ranging from $175,000 to $400,000.
Many of the Victorians in Corinth are original to the area when it was still part of Hadley.

Incredible outdoor opportunities
Residents enjoy various outdoor activities in the parks, beaches and playgrounds surrounding Corinth. The town sits immediately above the Palmer Dam, a hydroelectric power station that slows the river into a clear lake, a perfect swimming hole from the beach behind the Corinth Free Library. Pagenstecher Park is home to soccer fields, running trails and outdoor fitness equipment on the banks of the Hudson River, with views of Palmer Falls, a picturesque waterfall below the Palmer Dam. For something more rigorous, locals climb to the top of the Fire Tower Trailhead at the summit of Spruce Mountain, creating 120-mile panoramic views of the Adirondacks stretching from the Catskills into Vermont. On rainy days, residents pack the Corinth Free Library or gather for workouts at the Saratoga Regional YMCA.
