In the area, they go to Strack and Van Til food market to stock up on groceries, before heading home to Leroy. For additional shopping, Southlake Mall is around 10 miles up Interstate 65 from Leroy and is where Residents can check off the rest of the items on their list. In the mall, they explore the racks at major retailers like JCPenney and Macy’s before heading across the street to the Target.

Students attend Winfield Elementary School, which earns an A-minus grade from Niche. Col. John Wheeler Middle School and Crown Point High School are the final steps for students within the Crown Point Community School Corporation; each school holds a Grade of A from Niche. At Crown Point High School, students can take Advanced Placement and Dual Credit courses to earn college credit before graduation.

Heading for the highway
Though Leroy Residents enjoy the seclusion and serenity found on the farmlands and nature trails, “It would be under 10 minutes to get to a major highway, called Highway 65, which is a major route north and south from the end of Indiana past Indianapolis,” Hicks says. Route 231 also makes traveling into Crown Point, Hebron and Winfield convenient for shopping and dining options.
