Mendon Road is the main throughway in the neighborhood, with shops and services littered along it. U.S. Interstate 295 runs south of the neighborhood and will lead locals to the Providence metropolitan area. Using I-295 to Rhode Island State Route 146, residents can commute about 13 miles to Providence. Locals can travel to Massachusetts using a variety of roadways. Shopping and dining off Mendon Road

In the same shopping center, there’s a CVS Pharmacy, Ace Hardware and several other shops and services. About 6 miles south of the neighborhood, in Lincoln, residents can grab ingredients for dinner from Stop & Shop or enjoy a movie at the neighboring theatre. There’s also a Target, Dunkin’, Dollar Tree and various other amenities here, ensuring locals can access everything they need. For morning coffee, residents can head to Coffee Connection on Mendon Road, which serves breakfast foods in addition to lattes. For dinner, McNally says, “Cumberland House of Pizza has been owned by the same family for decades. It’s a local favorite that’s always crowded.”

Getting outside in Cumberland Hill
Manville Landing Park is an access point for the Blackstone River and the Manville Dam. This is a popular spot for kayaks, paddleboards and canoes, as it offers a calm stretch of water. Narrow walking paths extend through the woods and beside the river, where visitors can stop and listen to the water rushing over the dam. This is also a popular spot for fishing and birding. Andrew J. Tucker Athletic Complex, across from Cumberland High School on Mendon Road, is named in memorial of a longtime coach, teacher and resident of the area. The facility includes a turf football field, tennis courts, basketball courts and a baseball diamond. In 2017, the facility underwent $3.5 million in renovations, making it a state-of-the-art multisport complex to be used by the neighborhood’s youth. Epheta Park is a 1-acre green space that is walkable from most homes in the neighborhood. This open field includes paved trails and is a great place to go for a walk or spend time outdoors.
