Named for the creek that flows through the neighborhood, Timbercreek is a centrally located suburban community in Flower Mound, just north of Dallas and Fort Worth. “It’s at the center of all of DFW. It’s right by DFW International Airport and gives people a great commute. It has great schools, some of the top-notch schools in the entire state. Timbercreek is on the east side of Flower Mound, adjacent to the neighboring city of Lewisville. The ranch-style homes often have spacious front yards dotted with mature shade trees. Other parts of the neighborhood still feature many leafy trees but with slightly smaller lots. Students in Timbercreek will be part of the Lewisville Independent School District and might attend Timber Creek Elementary School, Lamar Middle School and Marcus High School. Timber Creek and Lamar are each rated an A by Niche, while Marcus High is rated an A+. The school serves over 3,000 students, with a student-teacher ratio of 16-to-1. Students can take electives in several career-focused subjects, like computer science, journalism and accounting. Marcus High has produced several professional athletes, including World Series champion pitcher Ryan Pressly.

Timbercreek residents live near some of the most popular recreational sites in Flower Mound, giving them plenty of ways to get outside and enjoy the warm Texas weather. “We have a ton of nature trails in Flower Mound and the surrounding area. They all link up to one trail system, so there’s a ton of outdoor activities,” Collinsworth says. Residents can spend time hiking or biking on trails like the Pink Evening Primrose Trail, which follows the neighborhood’s namesake creek and connects to multiple parks in the area. Leonard and Helen Johns Park is located along the trail and has a fishing pond and tennis courts. A bit further south is Rustic Timbers Park, which has more forested areas to explore along the trail and a basketball court perfect for pick-up games. Residents are also just a 6-mile drive from popular lakeside spots like Rockledge Park, which has a boat ramp where visitors can put a kayak in for some time paddling on Grapevine Lake.

An easy commute from a central location
The neighborhood’s location in the north-central part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex makes it easy for residents to get around. Major roads like Cross Timbers Road and Long Prairie Road give locals access to all of Flower Mound. Interstate 35E is just over 3 miles east of the neighborhood and can take residents south to Dallas or north to Denton.
