Life by the "World Center of Racing"
The neighborhood may hold a special appeal for racing fans, but the community of Indigo has more to offer homebuyers of all varieties. Indigo locals have access to the Daytona Beach shorefront, numerous malls and the Daytona International Speedway, host of the biggest race in NASCAR every February since 1959. During the off-season, the venue is also home to other motorsports events, including the Daytona 200 motorcycle races. “[Indigo] is right in the heart of Daytona while still feeling very tucked away,” says Michelle McKinney, founder of Beacon Team Florida. “You’re only five or ten minutes from everything.”
In Indigo you are just minutes away from the Daytona International Speedway.

Plentiful malls and choice eateries
Residents of Indigo don't have to travel far for shopping options. More than 70 retailers sit to the north in the Tanger Outlets Daytona Beach, including Nike, Michael Kors and Kate Spade. One Daytona is a nearby outdoor mall just across from the Speedway with a variety of restaurants, shops and even a CMX movie theater. Another attraction at the mall is GameTime, where locals can play both retro and modern arcade games. Restaurant options are also extensive, with a little of everything from national chain restaurants to local favorites. Diners can find American grub at WingHouse Bar & Grill, Texas-style BBQ at 4 Rivers Smokehouse and upscale Italian cuisine at Tiano’s Cucina Italiana. Groceries can be easily picked up nearby at Target.

Sand wedges and sand castles
Residents are only around a 6-mile drive from the beach. At Breakers Oceanfront Park, which sits next to the Daytona Beach Main Street Pier, there's a public-use area with a parking lot, volleyball court and more. Indigo locals who are club members can spend more time outdoors, just across Interstate 95 at Ladies Professional Golf Association International, home of the LPGA Tour and many LPGA Championships since 1994. Revered golf architects Arthur Hills and Rees Jones designed the two 18-hole golf courses. Right in many Indigo residents' backyards is a feature of the neighborhood: the private neighborhood golf course. Although it was shuttered in 2018, the long fairways and tree cover provide a sprawling, makeshift park of sorts for residences that allows for acres of green space and lengthy walking trails.
Indigo is a suburban neighborhood dotted with mature trees and tranquil lakes.

There are a few condominiums in Indigo Point, which were built in 1983, but most homes in the neighborhood are stand-alone, single-family homes. Homebuyers have a wide array of options that generally range from $250,000 to $600,000. Larger new traditional builds with a variety of influences line the cul-de-sacs on and around Pleasant Valley Drive. Contemporary architectural styles such as ranchers and midcentury moderns are peppered throughout Indigo, often featuring gabled roofs and styled columns.
Culdesacs and screen rooms with pools, are a common site in the Indigo community.
Well manicured lawns and large groups of palm trees are a welcoming site to Indigo residnets.

Daytona school days
Neighborhood students attend schools within Volusia County Public School District. Many youngsters start their education at Palm Terrace Elementary School before moving up to Campbell Middle School. Both schools receive a C grade from Niche. Students finish primary school at Mainland High School on International Speedway Boulevard. The secondary school earns a B grade from Niche and is home to the Buccaneers, with sports offerings including weightlifting, bowling and flag football.
Mainland High School is a public high school serving the Grande Preserve One community.
Campbell Middle School is located on Keech St in Daytona Beach.

Local gatherings and markets
On Fridays and Saturdays, residents can shop from local artisans and farmers at the Daytona Flea and Farmers Market. The area also has monthly events, including the Classic Car Cruise-In and the Garage Sale Weekend. “The city government has done a great job breathing renewed life into the surrounding area,” McKinney says. Racing, malls and the beach are cornerstones of life for residents in Indigo.
Getting around at less than 200 miles per hour
While Indigo sits at the western edge of the Daytona area, its proximity to both International Speedway Boulevard and I-95 makes it a very convenient community to live in. Residents without personal vehicles can make use of Volusia County's VoRide service to get to and from medical appointments or do their weekly shopping.
