Upscale amenities and strong social appeal in Delray Beach

Delaire Country Club’s pristine greens and manicured layout give it a resort-style feel. The guard-gated community is on the southern side of Delray Beach, between downtown and Boca Raton. Much of the appeal comes from Delaire's custom-built luxury homes and country club amenities. “The people that are moving here to South Florida are looking for the lifestyle and those types of amenities, and that includes golf, tennis or pickleball or the social events,” says Brian Battaglia, a Realtor with Lang Realty who has lived in the Boca Raton area since 1982. “Delaire Country Club and Bocaire Country Club are smaller, more intimate clubs compared to larger clubs like Boca West.”

Delaire Country Club has state-of-the-art amenities

Living in Delaire grants full access to the Delaire Country Club, the neighborhood centerpiece. The club is home to a recently renovated 27-hole golf course, which hosts several tournaments while offering men’s and women’s leagues. Social perks include a calendar filled with holiday parties and social hours where members can get to know the neighbors. Membership for the country club is required for all residents.

Custom estates on golf course lots

Neighborhood homes vary from properties that offer undisturbed views of the greens to estates overlooking community lakes. Architectural styles throughout the community range from one-story ranch-style homes with Mediterranean-style red-tiled roofing to expansive estates on oversized lots. The community also offers a builder program that allows prospective residents to renovate or rebuild homes, allowing them to build their dream home. Home prices in Delaire are generally higher than the neighboring Bocaire Country Club, typically ranging between $1.1 million and $4.6 million. Home prices vary depending on square footage and the extent of renovations a house has undergone.

Highly rated Palm Beach County schools

Delaire is zoned to highly rated Palm Beach County School District, a major draw for parents. Kids might start at Orchard View Elementary School, which has a B-minus grade on Niche and offers an after-school program through the school district where students receive homework help and can take enrichment activities. Omni Middle School has an A-minus Niche score and notably has a biomedical academy that can result in CPR certifications. High schoolers will likely attend Spanish River Community High School, which boasts an A-plus rating.

Nature trails at Delray Oaks

Delray Oaks invites nature enthusiasts to take a stroll through a lush, landscaped trail that spans over 25 acres. The trail doubles as a natural area for several bird species and wildlife. Of course, residents are a few miles from Delray Beach’s sandy shores, including Atlantic Dunes Park. Nearby, Delray Beach has nearly 2 miles of well-maintained beachfront.

Fine dining in Downtown Delray Beach

Many of Delray Beach’s shopping centers and restaurants are along Linton Boulevard. The Plaza at Delray has box retailers and Publix, and the thoroughfare has fast-food spots and local chains. Centered on Atlantic Ave, Downtown Delray is teeming with upscale restaurants like Cut 432 Steakhouse and classic Italian spots including Elisabetta’s and Le Sorelle. “Downtown Delray is a great place to go for the evening or out for a drink. It’s a very active place,” Battaglia says. In addition to happy hour spots and beachside dining, downtown is home to the Old School Square Center for the Arts. For more options, residents can take a quick drive to Mizner Park and Downtown Boca Raton. Further east, Federal Highway is a major local thoroughfare lined with shopping centers and restaurants.

Interstate 95 allows for easy travel around the Gold Coast

Residents are less than a mile from Interstate 95, which connects the Delaire community to the rest of South Florida. Palm Tran has several bus stops along major roads like Linton Boulevard and Congress Ave, but there aren’t stops within the neighborhood. Delray Medical Center, a 536-bed general hospital, is about 2 miles away.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
