A suburb turned city with an ecotourism based economy
Deltona began in the early 1960s as a master-planned community with about 180 residents and plenty of land to build on. By 1995, the once-rural suburb was incorporated as a city, and today, it's the largest city in Volusia County. Even with 90,000 residents, it's far quieter than its southern neighbor, Orlando. Subdivisions, wildlife preserves and a long chain of lakes cover most of the city, with some shopping development on the wat. Its natural beauty and the work of local leaders have made Deltona an ecotourism destination, with an interlocking trail system and over 660 acres of conservation land.
Along with tourism, Deltona's largest industries are healthcare and manufacturing. In 2020, Halifax Health built a 196,000-square-foot medical center right off Interstate 4 on the city's north side. It sits directly across from the brand-new Portland Industrial Park, which is now home to a 1.4 million-square-foot Amazon fulfillment center.

It also serves as the trailhead for the East Central Regional Trail, which links to Florida's 250-mile Coast-to-Coast Trail. At the heart of the Barrett Spray Team is a man with a whole lot of heart, unsurprisingly by the name of Barrett Spray. A real estate agent since 1992, he worked at a local brokerage for 10 years, then Century 21 for 10 years before joining Keller Williams, where he has been ever since. It is there that he founded his team in 2006, surrounding himself with hard-working, like-minded people to achieve even greater success than he could on his own. Often described as a man with the heart of a teacher, Barrett is also a national real estate coach, is counted among the top 1% of real estate agents nationwide, sells a property every three days, and still finds the time to be a fun guy. Long story short, Barrett is a great listener, will always take the time to make sure you feel comfortable in your transaction, and instills these values in everyone who joins our real estate family.
