Fiskhorn’s accessibly priced homes, convenient location and growth potential have made it a popular choice for first-time home buyers and investors. While it hasn’t seen the same revitalization efforts as much of the surrounding Detroit neighborhoods have, mainly because the community didn’t suffer the same severity of blight, the area has seen a steady growth in home values in the past few years. Year over year, home values have increased at a rate of 5.2%.
“It’s definitely an up-and-coming area,” says Sean Konja, an associate broker with the KW Professionals. “As revitalization in Detroit continues, there’s a lot of hope for here as well. It’s a good time to get in and plant your roots here.”

Most homes in Fiskhhorn are classic Detroit brick Bungalows that are over 80 years old. Separated from next-door neighbors by driveways leading to detached garages, lots tend to be on the smaller side but feature fenced backyards. “Homes are moderately priced for now,” says Konja, with prices ranging from $30,000 for a three-bedroom that needs a full flip to $200,000 for a key-turn four-bedroom. “It’s just a matter of time before Fiskhorn catches the attention of more homebuyers and potential investors,” he says.
