Close to Interstate 96, with houses that come at a reasonable price for the area, Grand River-I96 is a conveniently located neighborhood surrounded by a variety of businesses. The neighborhood brushes up against an industrial park and rides Grand River Avenue, giving residents plenty of options for getting around the area by car or by bus, thanks to the bus stops along Grand River Avenue. Residents use I-96 to get around the city and get to work in downtown Detroit, which is about 10 miles away.

Homes in Grand River-I96 start at around $45,000 and reach up to around $125,000. "There's still a strong market in this area," says Rob Funk, a Realtor with RE/MAX First. "I've still got multiple offers when houses go up on the market." The area has a mix of housing, with some needing significant repair. Others are in crisp condition with precisely maintained front lawns. "The biggest key is solid brick homes," says Funk. "Those houses have some staying power." You'll generally spot brick bungalows, Cape Cods, and ranch-style homes. Some Tudor revivals in the neighborhood have handsome white siding, and Grand River-I96 has sidewalk-lined streets, so getting around the area is easy.

Students in the area are part of Detroit Public Schools Community District, which has a C rating on Niche. The area's youngest learners begin their academic journey at Burns Elementary-Middle School, which has a C-minus rating from Niche and serves grades K-8. Students conclude their secondary academic journey at Cass Technical High School, which holds a B-plus rating from Niche and offers industry certification programs and a Robotics club. Students can also attend Cody High School, which received a B-plus rating for its teachers from Niche. The school offers a range of athletics programs, extracurricular activities, and clubs for students to participate in.

For a bite to eat, head to Galaxy Coney Island. This local favorite has a retro exterior that hearkens to 20th-century New York. Inside, locals can grab chili cheese fries, gyros and wings at the takeout counter or grab a seat at one of the booths and watch cars cruise by on Grand River Avenue. Residents also head to Glass House Bar & Grill, as long as they're not throwing any stones. It's a local favorite for parties and get-togethers and a great place to meet people in the community. For groceries, residents head to Grand Price Food Land, located along Grand River Avenue.

For fresh air, locals head to Littlefield Park. It's got more than a few desirable amenities, including two baseball fields for home-run fans, three basketball courts for locals who want to play a pickup game and plenty of fields throughout for general use. A paved walking trail also stretches around the perimeter of the park.

Grand River-I96 lives up to its name. Located along these major roadways, residents have access to a variety of businesses to supply their daily needs. For a potential resident looking for a home in a quiet neighborhood in a convenient location, Grand River I-96 is an option worth considering.
