Westwood Park is a quiet neighborhood near Stoepel Park, a popular community gathering place. The neighborhood is tight-knit, and it's common to see neighbors at each other's houses and getting around the area on the sidewalk. About 15 miles from downtown Detroit, this quiet neighborhood has easy access to Interstate 96. You can also use the bus stops along Evergreen Road to get around the area. Residents who live in this neighborhood and work in the city or elsewhere off the highway enjoy Weatherby for its convenient location.

Lots tend to be three to four thousand square feet, with equally sized front and back yards. This area has modest tree cover, with some spaces between yards filled with thickets of leafy green trees and some along the sidewalks. Stoepel Park is a popular spot to get some fresh air and exercise. It's threaded with trails that lead from one part of the park to another. Lace up your basketball shoes and play on the park's court, play around on the jungle gym, or head to the tennis courts and practice your serve. Residents often visit the park on the weekend to make use of its amenities.

Thanks to the neighborhood's location, you're always close to a bite to eat. There are a few popular restaurants on Schoolcraft Road, including Sonny's Hamburgers. The sleek exterior's red accents and 360 glass windows resemble a refreshed take on an old-school diner, and it serves juicy burgers and crisp fries seven days a week. For a weeknight drink, head to Westwood Lounge. It's a popular spot for a night out with friends, and locals enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. You can also head to Grand River Avenue and pick up your groceries at Royal Fresh Market.

For a close community experience and an easily walkable neighborhood, Westwood Park is a strong option. It's close to the highway and a commercial park home to businesses like Detroit Manufacturing Systems, making it a quiet choice for residents who want to be close to work near home or in downtown Detroit.
