1970s and '80s homes near the water
Lake Valhalla has been a quiet place to call home for decades. “There are all kinds of home styles there,” Martin says. “There are a few lots still available, but most of the homes have been around since the 1970s and '80s. The neighborhood has an HOA, but it’s not a gated area.” Colonial Revival, split-level and ranch architecture are most prominent, and prices range from $175,000 to $450,000. About four homes near the lake’s edge may see flooded lawns during extreme weather, but flooding isn’t a big concern for this area. Smithfield Township doesn’t allow short-term rentals, so residents don’t have to worry about many families coming and going, causing noise for a week while they vacation.
