Historic architecture near nature preserves and a bustling downtown
Historic architecture meets modern amenities in the South Easton neighborhood. Residents can travel 30 miles north to Boston or 30 miles south to Providence, but the neighborhood is anything but a simple halfway point between the two cities. “I find Easton to be the gem of Bristol County,” says Kristen Keating, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty and local yoga instructor at Open Doors Yoga Studio. “There’s a broad appeal to South Easton. It’s close to a bustling downtown with fitness studios, great restaurants and famous Romanesque Richardson architecture. There’s a great school system, a children’s museum, Stonehill College, and it’s near plenty of lakes and nature reserves,” Keating says.
True colonials and newly constructed Colonial Revivals in South Easton
Both home ages and styles vary widely throughout the area. “South Easton is interesting because there’s a mix of historic homes and new builds,” Keating says. There are colonial homes built in the 18th and 19th centuries, and there are also Colonial Revivals, Cape Cods and ranches built in the 1950s and 60s. Developers are modernizing the area, and homebuyers can purchase a Colonial Revival home built as recently as 2023. Most homes in South Easton are positioned on organic street patterns and feature large, shaded yards lined with pine and maple trees. Garden landscaping and shrubbery are common throughout the neighborhood, and driveway space is plentiful, though sidewalks are scarce. Prices start around $500,000 for a ranch home and rise to $700,000 for a new build. Renovated historic homes, which often include fireplaces, large lots and at least four bedrooms, start at $1 million.
18th century homes are spread though the South Easton area.
New Traditional style homes are the bulk of new construction in South Easton.
Newer neighborhoods in South Easton primarily have Colonial Revival style homes.
