Modern neighborhood with small town charm
With a strong sense of community and neighborliness, Edmond's Town Square neighborhood tries to bring back the ideal of small town America in this 21st century development with old school charm packed with modern conveniences. "We strive to develop a true community, not just a neighborhood of houses," says Kylie McCaleb-Byford, Marketing and Sales Manager for McCaleb Homes. "Something that makes Town Square unique is how involved the residents are with each other. Most people move here for the community feel." Jim Miller, a real estate agent with Keller Williams-Yukon said the neighborhood is a growing part of Edmond. “Edmond’s growing north and Guthrie’s growing south. We’re seeing a lot of newer developments around there.” Running along Danforth Avenue and north, Miller notes that Danforth historically was the upper limits of Edmond with a lot of larger lots and the neighborhood features some of the nicer homes in the area.
Modern builds with classic architectural influences
Though Town Square is a 21st-century development, the builder, family-run McCaleb Homes, used architecture from the 1920s to the 1950s, like Tudor Revival, bungalow and farmhouse styles, as inspiration to create modern homes with a classic aesthetic. House sizes range from around 1,600 square feet for a two-bedroom home to 2,600 square feet for a four-bedroom. Town Square prices start from the high $300,000s for a smaller floorplan to the low $600,000s for homes with more square footage.
Edmond Public Schools
Students begin at Northern Hills Elementary School, moving on to Central Middle School and Edmond Memorial High School. All three schools are rated A on Niche. In recent years the high school has received a boost with a $13.7 million upgrade to the football stadium. Students can also participate in the school newspaper, “The Ruff Draft.”
Fun in Town Square
Town Square's amenities are designed to encourage neighbors to get to know one another. "All of our houses have really nice old-school front porches with Adirondack chairs or porch swings to encourage people to be outside and see their neighbors," McCaleb-Byford says. Whether it's live music nights at the resort-style pool; a playdate at the playground; a stroll with the dog along the walking trail; or an afternoon of fishing at the neighborhood lake, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the close-knit community atmosphere. If the fish aren't biting at the Town Square lake, try the fishing pond at E.C. Hafer Park, a quick 10-minute drive away.
Shopping and Dining
With Town Square's convenient location off Danforth Road, residents have easy access to restaurants in Edmond’s downtown core. The Edmond Railyard food hall features eight restaurants in one, serving a variety of food, from hot wings and barbecue to ramen and ice cream. For a special date night or birthday dinner closer to home, there's the independently-owned Signature Grill, where you can enjoy pan-seared duck breast or a smoked blue cheese-topped beef tenderloin. For every day needs, Sprouts Farmers Market grocery store is about four miles away.
GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
