Edwardsville, a rural city close to major Kansas City area attractions
The city of Edwardsville sits on the outskirts of the Kansas City metropolitan area, about 15 miles from Downtown KC. Along its southern edge is the Kansas River, and to the north, the Kansas Speedway. Two interstates, I-435 and I-470, run alongside the city, providing easy access to major area attractions like Legends Outlets Kansas City, a shopping center with over 100 stores and restaurants. Yet Edwardsville maintains a rural atmosphere, thanks to its heavily wooded residential streets and nearby lakes and forest reserves. Though it's located in Wyandotte County, the city has its own emergency and police departments and municipal services, giving residents peace of mind. "It has the benefits of country living; it's really pretty," says Shelee Brim, a local Realtor for almost 20 years with KC Homes and Hounds. "But you're close to all of these amenities, and there are so many housing options here."

Ranch-style homes on large lots and more contemporary houses in subdivisions
A bird's-eye view of Edwardsville reveals a patchwork of winding, tree-lined roads and tidy subdivisions radiating north from the Kansas River. It's primarily residential, with the exception of a large industrial area next to the river. Houses vary from rustic, ranch-style homes dating from the 1960s to newer traditional and contemporary houses. Many sit on large lots stretching over an acre. They range from around $250,000 to $500,000, depending on the size and age of the home. There are also a smattering of townhouses, which go for around $175,000 to $200,000.

Edwardsville is a 15-mile drive from Downtown Kansas City.
Easy access to Interstate-435 and Downtown KC
Edwardsville's interconnectivity with Bonner Springs and Kansas City is aided by its location at the crossroads of Interstates 435 and 470. Downtown Kansas City is about a 15-mile drive that typically takes about 25 minutes. Kansas City public transport doesn't reach the Edwardsville, so residents are heavily car-dependent.

Edwardsville is a very small town in Kansas, close to KCK. It's near the Legends Speedway area, which is nice. There are often a lot of policemen around (usually checking radar on backroads/highways), which is good if there happens to be an emergency, because it won't take them long to come and help.
