Elberta is off the beaten path to the beaches on the Alabama coast, but the small, quiet town does attract visitors with an annual German festival and access to Wolf Bay. "German settlers established the community," says Realtor Jeremy Sullivan with Re/Max Paradise, who has sold homes for nearly 20 years. "That's reflected in the German sausage festival, which they have twice a year, every year." The community is now a tranquil town where residents know their neighbors, but it continues growing. "It's a small community, and there's a mix of waterfront property on Wolf Bay and farmland, but we're growing and thriving. There were 400 people when I moved there, and now there are over 2,000. It's awesome."
