Countryside living within a quick commute to Denver
Sitting approximately 35 miles southeast of Denver, the Deer Creek Farm neighborhood embraces natural beauty and wide-open spaces without giving up all access to urban amenities and conveniences. “We’re out in the country, with the wildlife,” says Lynne Wright, Realtor at HomeSmart and longtime neighborhood resident. “It’s a quiet, provincial kind of place – I wouldn’t quite call it rural, but it offers a lot of the benefits that come with living farther out.” Blending elements of small-town life with mountain charm and urban access, Deer Creek Farm provides a tranquil respite that doesn’t bore.

Flat land and open space means large lots and charming traditional homes
Unlike more mountainous neighborhoods found on the other side of Denver, the area around the Deer Creek Farm neighborhood is what Wright describes as a “high-plains desert town.” Stretches of flat land and open space easily accommodate larger lots, and homeowners are still at a high enough elevation to appreciate mountain views without dealing with mountain driving conditions, though the neighborhood does get more than 5 feet of snow a year. Home styles include ranch and two-story traditionals, along with more recent modern contemporary builds. The selling point, however, is what comes with it. “There’s enough space for pretty much everyone to have attached or detached garages, storage sheds, even places for your RV,” says Wright. “What you’re getting in Deer Creek Farm, as far as space and lot size goes, would be over $2 million in Denver.” Prices range from $700,000 to $975,000 for ranch styles and traditional homes, while modern contemporary homes – often sitting on significant acreage – start at just over $1 million and reach as high as $1.2 million.

I-25 makes getting around the Denver metro area straightforward
Interstate 25 and Colorado State Highway 86 provide direct commuting options to Denver and other surrounding towns. The 35-mile drive to Denver typically takes about 45 minutes, while residents can reach the Denver International Airport – roughly 30 miles away from the neighborhood – in 35 minutes. “We don’t have to deal with nearly as much traffic on this side of Denver,” says Wright. “You can usually get around a lot more quickly.”
Parker and Elizabeth offer plenty of options for shopping and dining
The towns of Elizabeth and Parker provide plenty of shopping and dining options. Each offers its own Safeway or King Soopers for groceries. Elizabeth is also home to Catalina’s Diner, a family-run, old-school diner serving up American classics and all-day breakfast, and Asia Kitchen, the area’s go-to spot for Chinese take-out. “Elizabeth’s Main Street is like something straight out of an old Wild West town,” says Wright. The strip is lined with vintage shops and antique stores that feature elements of old-school Western false-front architecture. The Parker Center features specialty services, fashion boutiques and a Family Dollar. Locals can also catch the Broncos or Rockies game at the Bluebird Restaurant & Tavern at the nearby Spring Valley Golf Club.

HOA-sponsored events bring the community together
Within the neighborhood, community members participate in HOA-sponsored events like Dumpster Day, where residents dump their trash together. Chipper Day is for collecting and mulching excess trees and brush – something that needs to be done in response to the area’s wildfire risk. A community barbecue follows both events. “It’s a place where people enjoy their privacy, for sure,” says Wright. “But it still has that neighborly, small-town feel you don’t get in Denver.”
