Hiking and rural life in the Ozark Mountains

A small city 10 miles outside Fayetteville, Elkins is a rural community set in the Ozark Mountains. Privacy but still a neighborly feel

Homes in Elkins start at around $250,000 and can reach up to $350,000. Homes in this city are located in large rural areas with properties that have around an acre of land or typical suburbs that still have large lots, but houses are closer together and provide a neighborhood feel. The suburban areas have sidewalks along the streets, and the rural areas have plenty of open space and tree cover. Whether a potential future resident is looking to move into one of Elkins' suburban neighborhoods or chooses to live in a more rural section of the city, there are a variety of housing styles available. Ranch-style homes are very common in the suburban areas, and the rural parts of town tend to feature farmhouse, colonial, and split-level homes along those streets.

Familiar comfort food off Center Road

For a bite to eat, locals head to a small shipping district off Center Road, the main thoroughfare that connects the city to the surrounding area. Casey's is a popular place to grab a slice of pizza, and G's Meaty Buns is a local favorite for a hot plate of barbeque. Grab a seat at one of the picnic tables set up inside and order an item from the chalkboard menu in the front of the restaurant.
