The Panthersville neighborhood is a diverse area within Decatur near downtown Atlanta. Located just 15 minutes east of downtown Atlanta, residents have the opportunity to enjoy many of the perks of the city while living in a more suburban community.

Exchange Park Recreation Center is the local park that lies within the Panthersville neighborhood. It provides a variety of amenities such as a gym and fitness facility, multi-purpose meeting rooms, a playground, multi-purpose fields, tennis courts, a lake and walking trails along with intergenerational programs.

The schools within the neighborhood serve children starting as young as two years old and going through high school, all with a shared desire to help students to grow not just academically but also as social and productive members of society.

Those looking for retail therapy may find what they desire at The Gallery at South DeKalb shopping mall. In addition to shopping, the mall offers a food court and beauty salon. The Exchange Park Recreation Center serves as a common spot for child-targeted activities, such as after-school drop-off and dance classes.

The Panthersville neighborhood is home to the Exchange Park Recreation Center. The facility offers several amenities both inside and surrounding the facility including a gym, fitness facility, multi-purpose meeting rooms, a playground, tennis courts and multi-purpose fields, a lake and walking trails. Patrons may also enjoy the various programs offered at the facility for every age range, and some programs that are intergenerational.

Panthersville offers several schooling options for children of all ages. A few of the institutions, such as Sola Fide Academy and Greenforest McCalep Christian Academy, offer schooling for children throughout their early childhood years through middle and high school.

Many of the schools aim to prepare students to be able to excel in their future learning, whether they are matriculating to high school or one of the prestigious local collegiate institutions such as Georgia Tech, Emory or Georgia State.

With chain grocery stores and retail shops within the neighborhood and surrounding area, as well as specialty shops like the DeKalb Farmer’s Market, Panthersville residents need not travel far to meet their daily needs.

As for work, many Panthersville residents tend to commute out of the neighborhood. Being only 15 minutes east of downtown Atlanta, it makes for a quick and convenient commute to downtown and other surrounding work hubs such as Buckhead, Dunwoody and Sandy Springs.

The neighborhood of Panthersville is located 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta and has easy access to both major highways in the city, I-20 and I-285. This makes car commutes quite convenient and allows for avoiding some of the heavy traffic usually found on I-75 and I-85. Along with car transportation, Panthersville residents have the option to utilize public transit, with nine Atlanta MARTA bus stops within the neighborhood.

constant gunfire, terrible roads and drivers, daily break-ins in gated communities, no upkeep in any communities, neighbors have to look out for each other because no one else will

Lower income area, rude loud neighbors, not uncommon to smell marijuana from cars driving on the road, not many shops and restaurants in the immediate area are worth going to, and everything is closed on Sundays. Not terrible if you want to live somewhere affordable and don't mind the bad neighborhood.
