Green Valley is a country club community reminiscent of the English countryside. Within reach of significant cities and the Napa Valley wine country, this Bay Area enclave offers custom homes and wineries near a golf course. "Green Valley has a woodsy rural feel that's a little more organic," says Andy Klink, an area local and broker associate at Country Estates Inc. "As you head north into wine country, this is where we have vineyards and all the custom homes."

Neatly trimmed hedges and colorful gardens line the streets in Green Valley. The quality of homes and the atmosphere may be inviting factors for new homeowners. This area features traditional, Mediterranean and Spanish Revival homes built around the 1970s. Prices typically range from $1 million to $1.5 million. One of Green Valley's neighborhoods is Twin Creeks, a condo community with monthly HOA fees of around $900. Condos cost between $550,000 and $700,000. "All the homes are custom, and the lots are typically really large," Klink says. "It's nice in the summer because you don't get as much wind, and it's about five degrees cooler than places like Sacramento."

All three pipeline schools in Green Valley receive A-minus grades from Niche. Green Valley Middle School has a hands-on STEAM elective that introduces students to technology and creative subjects. Angelo Rodriguez High School was a 2021 California Distinguished School, providing an early college program with the opportunity to earn college credit.

Green Valley is part of the Bay Area's wine region, surrounded by wineries with tastings and vineyard views, such as Rock Creek Vineyard and G V Cellars. Rockville Hills Regional Park encompasses over 600 acres of oak forests and hiking trails in the volcanic hills. Another area is the Patwino Worrtla Kodoi Dihi Open Space Park, a green prairie with sweeping views of Fairfield on the Bay Area Ridge Trail. Sidewalk paths enter Vintage Green Valley Park, which has two playgrounds, a basketball court and plenty of picnic tables close to the neighborhood's elementary school.
Access to the Bay Area's most popular cities
Fairfield is near some of the Bay Area's most popular cities, including Oakland, Napa and Vallejo. The area's bus system is Fairfield and Suisun Transit (FAST), with eight fixed routes. San Francisco is roughly 55 miles southwest on Interstate 680. Additionally, Interstate 80 reaches Sacramento, which is around 40 miles east. The Sacramento International Airport also provides domestic flights and a limited selection of international trips.
