A music-forward community

“On Thursday nights in the summer, there is live music in Old Town Square,” says Houlton. “A lot of our music scene is supported by Pat Stryker, from the free concerts to the painted pianos that dot the city.” Stryker is a local philanthropist and founder of the Bohemian Foundation, which supports efforts to strengthen communities at the local and national levels. The Thursday Night Live concert series runs for 14 weeks throughout the summer and showcases Colorado musicians from a wide range of genres. The Taste of Fort Collins festival is each June in Washington Park and has hosted renowned artists from Rick Springfield and Andy Grammer to Smash Mouth and Nelly.
