Rural and suburban living meet in northern Fort Collins
Giddings is a north Fort Collins community on the edge of rural and suburban living, with large properties and numerous recreation facilities between hundreds of acres of farmland. “The streets are lined by mature trees, even in the newer subdivisions,” says Todd Sledge, a local Realtor with The Group Inc. “It gives the area a more secluded feel, even when you’re not far from your neighbors.” The area is popular among horse owners due to the spacious, fenced-in lots on the neighborhood’s north side. Waterfront homes have views of one of the area’s five lakes, while downtown Fort Collins is around a 5-mile drive south.

In some of the neighborhood’s newer, 1990s to 2020s subdivisions, houses sit close together on 7,000-square-foot lots, while others bordering the area’s farmland have between 2 and 9 acres. “A lot of homes are lakefront in the area, with private docks so people can easily paddle board or kayak,” Sledge says. Streets are lined with mature trees and thick greenery providing privacy between neighbors. Cozy cottages and newer builds on smaller lots range from $400,000 to $680,000, while larger homes on expansive lots go for $700,000 to $1.8 million.
