Midtown suburban living in Golden Meadows

Between the business district of Harmony Road and the verdant fairways of Fort Collins’ oldest public golf course, Golden Meadows is a quiet neighborhood with walkable streets and beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains. The community is conveniently located within 15 minutes of every corner of the city, from Midtown to Old Town with bike trails and nearby thoroughfares making travel straight forward. “In Golden Meadows, you have access to a lot of the conveniences of Harmony Road,” says Andy Hawbaker a Realtor with Coldwell Baker Realty NOCO. “You’re also close to all of the new growth and modern developments of south Fort Collins.”

1980s architecture and multi-family options

Most of the area’s houses were built throughout the 1980s and early ‘90s, with ranch-style homes, Colonial Revivals and modern traditional houses lining the streets. Attached two-car garages and fenced-in back yards are common, with lot sizes ranging from 6,000 square feet to around a quarter of an acre. Prices for single-family homes range from $550,000 to $760,000. The Rockbridge subdivision features one to three-bedroom condos, which can go for $240,000 to $330,000. Additionally, Golden Meadows has a CAP Index Crime Score of 2 out of 10, which is lower than the national average of 4.

The highly rated Poudre School District

Local families are served by the highly rated Poudre School District, starting with Kruse Elementary School, which earns an A-minus grade from Niche. “The clients I worked with who bought in Golden Meadows had a daughter that was about to start kindergarten,” says Hawbaker. “Being able to walk or ride their bikes with her to school in the morning was a big selling point.” Boltz Middle School receives a B-plus and offers a variety of opportunities for students to practice their leadership skills, from club council and National Junior Honor Society to Give Next, a youth grant making program that partners with local businesses. The A-minus-rated Fort Collins High School has over 50 clubs and extracurricular offerings and partners with Front Range Community College and Aims Community College for its concurrent enrollment courses.

Nearby recreation areas and bike trails

Golden Meadows Park is within a 1-mile walk of all the homes in the neighborhood and has a tennis court, shaded picnic tables, a playground and walking trails surrounding a small pond. Visitors can access the Power Trail from the park, a 4-mile north-south route that can take bikers and walkers north to the Spring Creek Trail and the expansive Edora Park. The 26-acre Warren Park has a playground, open field space and facilities for baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis and volleyball, and plays host to various youth sports leagues. The 18-hole Collindale Golf Course is a public, championship course known for its mountain views and evergreen-lined greens and fairways. The facility is also home to a bar and grill, a driving range and the Collindale Golf Academy.

Shopping and dining along Harmony Road

Harmony Road lies just south of Golden Meadows and is lined with shopping centers, big box stores and local businesses. La Buena Vida is a local favorite for Mexican fare, while Domenic’s Bistro and Wine Bar serves Italian cuisine. Nearby, Otto Pint offers specialty pizzas and craft beer. For groceries, Safeway, Sam’s Club, Target and Walmart are all close by. For more shopping, Old Town is around 5 miles north and serves as Fort Collins’ main commercial district, with dozens of eateries, bars and boutiques.

Transfort bus stops and I-25 access

Transfort operates over 20 bus routes throughout the city, with nearby stops along Horsetooth and Harmony roads. Interstate 25 is around 4 miles east of the neighborhood and can take drivers to major cities like Denver and Cheyenne. Denver International Airport is roughly 60 miles south.
