A conveniently located Fort Collins suburb with easy access to nearby thoroughfares

Between serene natural areas and the shopping centers of Eastern Fort Collins, Rigden Farm has walkable residential streets, many in proximity parks and popular walking trails. “Rigden Farm is situated in a great location for both shopping and commuting,” says Andria Porter-Stashak, a local Realtor with Keller Williams. “You’re close to the shopping centers of midtown and Old Town’s shopping district while being just a couple minutes from Interstate 25.”

Modern condos and craftsman-style homes

Bungalows, ranch-style homes and modern craftsman-style builds line the lanes of Rigden Farm, and most sit close together on 5,000-square-foot lots. Most homes were built between 2003 and 2007 and feature attached two-car garages and fenced-in backyards. Sidewalks and walking paths connect the neighborhood’s residential streets, connecting homes to nearby parks and businesses. Ranch-style homes and bungalows with roughly 2,000 square feet or less go for $485,000 to $600,000, while larger, multi-story builds range from $670,000 to $825,000. The neighborhood also has a wide variety of condos and townhomes, with prices ranging from $370,000 to $525,000.

Career-based electives at Fort Collins High School

Each of the neighborhood’s designated public schools earns an A-minus grade from Niche, starting with Riffenburgh Elementary School. Lesher Middle School is the fourth-best public middle school in Larimer County, according to Niche. Fort Collins High School lies just southwest of the area’s residential streets and offers dozens of career and technical education electives, including game design, interior design and architecture. High schoolers can also earn an associate degree alongside their diploma by taking tuition-free courses in conjunction with Front Range Community College.

Miles of paved trails and nearby sports facilities

Stew Case Park lies just west of Rigden Farm and has a baseball diamond, open field space, a playground and a pond. The Collindale Golf Course is the oldest public course in Fort Collins, with 18 well-maintained greens and fairways lined with evergreens and mature oaks. A short drive north, the 65-acre Edora Park has facilities for baseball, tennis, horseshoe and disc golf. The popular park is also home to a community garden and a skate park. The Edora Pool Ice Center has two indoor pools and an ice rink and is home to the Colorado State University’s hockey and water polo teams. A short drive northwest of the neighborhood, hikers and bikers can access the Poudre River Trail from the Riverbend Ponds Natural Area. The paved walkway winds over 40 miles, connecting to Windsor and Greeley.

The Shops at Rigden Farm and proximity to Old Town

King Soopers is a nearby option for groceries at The Shops at Rigden Farm. Next door, William Oliver’s Publick House is known for its wide variety of whiskies, with regular tasting events and a menu of classic pub fare. Genoa Coffee and Wine is a popular spot for baked goods and cafe bites from sandwiches to house-made soups. Old Town Fort Collins is roughly 4 miles northwest and is the city’s hub for shopping and dining. “From wherever you live in Fort Collins, you can reach Old Town in less than 15 minutes,” says Porter-Stashak. “It’s the busiest part of town, and from Rigden Farm, you can get there quickly, but you’re far enough removed that you don’t have to deal with the active atmosphere.”

Bikeable streets and Transfort bus routes

Fort Collins is known for being bikeable, with over 200 miles of bike lanes and trails across the city. Transfort operates bus stops along Drake Road and Kansas Drive, with over 20 routes and shuttles across town. Interstate 25 lies just east of the neighborhood and can take drivers around 60 miles south to Downtown Denver or roughly 45 miles north to Cheyenne, Wyoming.
