Room to stretch out in Middle River Terrace
Located just minutes from downtown Fort Lauderdale, the river and the railroad come together in Middle River Terrace. Situated along the southern neck of its namesake waterway, residents may also hear the occasional rumbling of a train as it chugs along the tracks parallel to the community’s west border. That’s not all that makes the neighborhood’s location so appealing, however — as it allows its residents to enjoy all Fort Lauderdale has to offer, while still allowing for a bit of space to stretch out. “It’s so convenient because of its location,” says Dorine Wollangk, real estate agent with LoKation Real Estate and longtime resident of the area. “But even though you’re close to so much, you’re still set back from the busy streets and kind of tucked away.”

"An eclectic mix" of homes
Houses in the neighborhood vary in style, with Craftsman, modern, and Spanish stylings all present. “The homes are an eclectic mix,” says Wollangk. “You have options from single-family bungalows to townhouses and condos.” Depending on the street, one might also see mid-century modern cottages or ranch-style homes with modern touches. Townhouses and condominiums are especially prevalent, with houses in the area harder to come by. “Houses, in general, go for a good bit more just because of how good the location is,” says Wollangk. Prices in the neighborhood typically range from $225,000 to $775,000 for a single-family condo or townhome, while cottages, ranch style, and larger estate homes range from $460,000 to $1.4 million.
