Downtown Fort Wayne is a popular events destination
Purdue University Fort Wayne’s Spring Carnival is a popular public event held on the banks of the St. Joseph River. This annual event invites students, faculty, staff and neighbors to enjoy carnival rides, fair games and food from local vendors. Dozens of additional events, like the Three Rivers Festival, are held throughout the year in downtown Fort Wayne.
According to Adams, the city has grown more popular since the Harrison Square revitalization project, which brought the Fort Wayne Tin Caps minor league baseball team downtown to Parkview Field in 2009. "I've been in real estate for 47 years, and it used to be that downtown was one of those nothing areas,” says Adams. “This minor league team just totally regenerated the area. It's like the phoenix that's rising— It really has resurrected.”
