Predictable, yet cozy Ranch-styles populate Northcrest's streets

Streets feature well-kept lawns and short driveways leading up to established homes. Built primarily in the 1950s and 1960s, Northcrest’s ranch-style dwellings are steeped in minimal traditionalism with simple accents. Some take inspiration from Greek Revivals, with columns and shutters, for extra flair. “The ranch style is popular here,” says Walborn. “You’ll also find attached garages or larger detached garages are common in the neighborhood.” The median square footage for single-family homes in Northcrest is 1,300, at a median price of $165,000, well below the national average. Homes generally sell for between $140,000 and $270,000 for three bedrooms and one to two bathrooms. The high end of this range yields an extra bedroom. “Bigger homes are selling for a lot more money,” says Walborn, “but so are smaller ones.” Homes in Northcrest typically don’t stay on the market for more than eight days.
