A quiet residential suburb just under 5 miles from downtown Fort Wayne
Homes of every color sit along tree-lined streets in Victoria Park, a suburb just 4.7 miles south of downtown Fort Wayne. The neighborhood is made up of a large subdivision and an extensive apartment complex called Autumn Woods. A few shops and houses of worship dot the streets here, but it is mainly residential. That doesn't mean retail and recreational options are out of reach. Walmart sits just two miles to the south, and the massive McMillen Park is about 2 miles north. Highly rated schools serve this neighborhood, making this an attractive location for families.
Ranch-style homes dominate Victoria Park
Ranch-style homes are the most prominent here, but split-level and two-story homes can occasionally be found. Many homes have between three and five bedrooms and are situated on midsized lots. The market here is sparse, but when homes come up for sale, they can sell for between $170,000 and $185,000. For those looking to rent, there is an extensive apartment complex called Autumn Woods on the north side of town.

Victoria Park is conveniently located near U.S. Route 27, which leads to downtown Fort Wayne, just 4.7 miles away. U.S. Interstate Highway 469 is also close and connects to U.S. Interstate Highway 69. Highway 69 runs north to south from Minnesota to Texas. Fort Wayne International Airport is 7.3 miles away, making air travel convenient. Public transit is available here. Public Citilink bus stops are along South Anthony Boulevard and East Paulding Road.
New Pontiac Street Market is just 3 miles away
While this neighborhood is primarily residential, retail and dining options are within reach. Familiar drugstores Walgreens and CVS are less than a mile away. There are also several fast-casual restaurants, including China Garden and Nawarat, which sell Asian cuisines. Rally's fast-food chain, known for its peppery fries and juicy burgers, can also be found here. For additional shopping needs, residents often head to the new Pontiac Street Market, just 3 miles north. "The Pontiac Street Market just opened. It's a 6,500 square-foot grocery store that has a sandwich counter and an area where you can sit down and chat," says MonTe Stevenson, associate broker for Anthony Realtors. He's been selling homes in the area for three years. Pontiac Street Market is a full-service grocery store. It stocks fresh meats and produce, baked goods and prepared foods. A Walmart Supercenter and several popular fast-food chains sit about 2 miles to the south.

McMillen Park spans over 168-acres
While there aren't any parks in the immediate neighborhood, there are several nearby, including the popular McMillen Park. This 168.2-acre recreational behemoth has everything from a public pool with a waterside to an 18-hole golf course. "McMillen Park is fantastic. I love playing golf there," says Jack Fitzgerald, a Realtor with eXp Realty, LLC. He grew up in the city. The McMillen Community Center is also located on the grounds. Kids can attend the daily youth after-school program, and adults can participate in regular pickleball games here.
East Allen County School District is ranked the No. 3 best district in the Fort Wayne Area
Kids may attend schools in the East Allen County School District, rated the No. 3 best school district in the Fort Wayne Area by Niche. Students can go to Southwick Elementary School and Paul Harding Junior High School, graded a B-plus and C-plus on Niche, respectively.
