Metroplex neighborhood with access to major highways

Sitting between two major roadways and about 5 minutes from Downtown Fort Worth, Eastland is an established residential community seeing lots of new growth. "You get a mix of the small-town friendly feel and the hustle and bustle of the nearby larger cities," says Sean Hassard, a real estate agent with Century 21 Judge Fite Company and Texas native who has over five years of experience. Much of the growth can be attributed to the neighborhood's location, next to highways 287 and 820, making commuting for work or exploring the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex a breeze. "A lot of people will use them to get around, and I know some people who take 287 south to work in Midlothian," Hassard says. Eastland receives a 7 out of 10 on the CAP Index crime score, a few marks higher than the national average of 4.

Modest homes and newer constructions

Minimal traditional and ranch-style homes fill the quiet Eastland streets, with many being mid-century homes that were recently renovated. Homes are built close to one another, giving the neighborhood a more urban setting. Modest houses needing renovations can range from $122,000 to $165,000, while newer single-story houses cost around $180,000 to $260,000. Larger, new-construction homes with modern features typically cost between $280,000 and $340,000. Narrow roads include space for street parking but limit space for vehicles passing through. Trees and shrubbery dot the neighborhood streets.

Access to highways 287 and 820

Like much of the Metroplex, Eastland is a driver-centric neighborhood, offering little for public transportation. "You have some buses and the TRE, but most people choose to drive," Hassard says. Highways 287 and the 820 Loop border the neighborhood and offer easy access into Dallas or Downtown Fort Worth, about 5 miles away. Travelers head northeast for 21 miles to DFW International Airport.
