Suburban neighborhood close to downtown Fort Worth

The blue-collar suburban neighborhood of Glen Garden catches homebuyers' attention with its proximity to schools, parks and transportation. While just 10 miles southeast of downtown, the neighborhood also captures Fort Worth's country flavor. "What people like about Fort Worth is its hometown feel," says Angie Graham, a local Realtor with Century 21 who has been selling homes in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex for 15 years. "It's busy and crowded but not as impersonal as Dallas. It still has that high-end feel Downtown, but overall? It's more country and western."

Mostly ranch-style homes with a few bi-level houses

Mid-century ranch-style homes with brick and vinyl siding are the most popular builds in Glen Garden. While most houses are similar, some bi-level and Colonial-inspired structures are sprinkled in, since there is no HOA. Prices range from around $160,000 for a modest rancher to about $380,000 for new construction built in 2024, with an attached garage and a fenced-in yard. Although most properties have a driveway or garage, winding and gridded streets offer space for street parking. Oak trees are prominent throughout the area, many standing slightly taller than the neighborhood homes. Some areas don't have sidewalks or bike lanes on the streets, and curbs are low to the ground.
