With several parks to choose from for some outdoor time, Patricia LeBlanc Park floats to the top of the list. It gained national recognition in the 1990s as the first universal playground in the country, allowing kids of all abilities to play side-by-side. At 17-acre Westcreek Park on Jennie Drive, locals enjoy the basketball and tennis courts, soccer field and playground. The park connects to the nearby Woodmont Linear Park, a trail that takes residents past public art installations offering messages of encouragement. Benbrook Lake can be accessed on Rocky Creek Park Road, 10 miles west for bass fishing or swimming.

Wedgwood residents have easy access to well-traveled shopping destinations like Hulen Mall, one of the largest malls in Fort Worth. In addition to anchor stores Macy’s and Dillard’s, the mall offers sporting goods, jewelry and familiar clothing brands. The mall has spurred further development in the immediate area, including entertainment options like the Movie Tavern theater. There is also an AMC theater a little further down Hulen Street.
