Located just 6 miles Downtown Fort Worth, West Byers is a popular and convenient neighborhood for those looking to live in West Fort Worth. “It’s super central,” Ted Olsen, a Realtor with Compass RE Texas, LLC, says. “It’s close to Camp Bowie Boulevard, the main artery of the west side of Fort Worth. It’s also affordable due to its blend of homes, from first-time home buyers to high-end homes.” Some attractive recreational options, including prominent golf courses, surround the neighborhood. “You are kind of socked between a bunch of different country clubs in West Byers,” Olsen says. “They are the premier spots for golfing.“ The convenience doesn’t stop there. Locals enjoy being close to various dining options and the Ridgmar Mall.

From bungalows with front porches to two-story new-traditional homes

As residents walk down the sidewalks on the gridded streets of West Byers, they’ll be shaded in spots by large trees, some of which overhang the road. While lots are small and quaint, they are well landscaped as residents take pride in their home’s exterior. Homes here range from bungalows with spacious front porches and ranches with a southwestern flair to large two-story new-traditional dwellings, with some coming with a Tudor spin. Homes here have sold for between $350,000 for a 2-bedroom bungalow to $950,000 for a 4-bedroom French-influenced new-traditional home. Townhouses are also available in West Byers and have sold for around $500,000. “The market is super strong,” Olsen says. “Especially since you have such a wide span of different types of homes.”

Students attend the Fort Worth Independent School District

Residents in West Byers may send their children to the Fort Worth Independent School District, which earns a B-minus grade from Niche. Starting in Pre-K, children may attend Mary Louise Phillips Elementary School before moving on to Monnig Middle School for sixth through eighth grade. Both schools earn a C-plus grade from Niche. In ninth grade, students attend Arlington Heights High School, which receives a B-plus grade and has a football program that has sent multiple players to the NFL, including defensive end A’Shawn Robinson and cornerback Tariq Woolen. As for private school options, Holy Family Catholic School is just a mile west of the neighborhood and serves students from Pre-K through eighth grade. Niche has yet to grade the school.

From swinging at Sanguinet Park to a pickup basketball game at Lake Como Park

When it’s time for the kids to play, their parents take them to Sanguinet Park, home to a play structure and swings. Roaring Park, just west of the neighborhood, has ample green space and is a popular area for throwing a frisbee or having an afternoon picnic. Lake Como Park, just south of West Byers, is a 59-acre park with a basketball court for pickup games and a trail for those looking to reach their goal. Grab a burger and beer from Tommy’s Hamburger Grill

When residents wrap up at the park, they may head to Tommy’s Hamburger Grill for a juicy burger and a cold beer. Less than 10 miles from Downtown Fort Worth

Residents who work in Downtown Fort Worth are looking at a 6-mile commute from West Byers via Interstate 30. Trinity Metro also offers bus service to downtown via the stop on Camp Bowie Boulevard. Those looking to catch a flight can do so at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, a 29-mile drive from West Byers. For medical attention, Medical City Fort Worth is a 4-mile drive away using Interstate 30.
