Mature trees add an established feel to the Golden Meadows neighborhood.
Residential Texas living near major cities
Situated on the outskirts of both Dallas and Plano, the neighborhood of Golden Meadows is minutes away from the historic downtown Garland area. The quaint area is mostly residential, and the neighborhood’s square shape is lined with a number of restaurants. Though mostly comprised of homes, living in the neighborhood means residents aren’t far away from a dash of local flavor at restaurants or festivals. "Golden Meadows doesn't host its own events," says Levi Lascsak, a Realtor with EXP Realty who’s sold homes in the area for more than four years, "but it's close to the North Texas State Fair, which is held annually in September. Addison Circle Park hosts various events throughout the year, including Taste Addison, which is a food and music festival."
Front-gabled ranch-style homes are a common sight in Golden Meadows.
Mid-century homes on quiet streets
Homes in Golden Meadows vary in style and size, but the neighborhood typically offers streets of either mid-century ranch homes or traditional, sometimes large brick residences. Siding and brick are the most common exteriors, along with some occasional stone facing, and almost all of Golden Meadows’ homes were built between the 1940s and 1970s. Along its flat, quiet streets, some picket fences line the yards, and trumpet vines and crepe myrtles are among the types of foliage seen here. Residents can easily go for walks, bike rides or dog walks, and particularly in the southern half there’s mature trees on many lots. Pricing for homes here typically ranges between $200,000 to $400,000, though some have sold for north of $500,000.
