A walkable community with suburban amenities and a rural exterior
Surrounded by agricultural fields to the north, west and south, Mill Creek offers residents a rural exterior, which contrasts the active community that inhabits it. Though downtown Geneva sits 4 miles east, Mill Creek residents have a walkable city center feel, where residents bike to the neighborhood ice cream shop and host events like a back-to-school fair and a miniature holiday light tour to bring neighbors together. “It’s a very friendly and fun place to live, with lots of nature, parks and paths for walking and biking,” shares Mary Bruno, resident and local Realtor with Keller Williams Inspire, who has sold over 50 homes in Mill Creek. “Where we are, it feels like you are out in the country, and you don’t have to break the bank to enjoy all that downtown Geneva has to offer.”
Mill Creek is a green and quiet suburban refuge just outside historic Geneva.

21st century New Traditional and Millenium Mansion-style homes
Mill Creek’s residential landscape houses wide curved streets and walking trails connecting one pocket of homes to the next. Its southern half is built arond Somerset Park, where residential streets circle around the green space. Meanwhile, the course of Mill Creek Golf Club meanders through the community's northern half. Adding to its pedestrian appeal are sidewalks, a notable absence of traffic lights and a CAP Index crime score of 1 out of 10, lower than the national average of 4. When asked about the neighborhood’s trails, Bruno says, “People always walk with dogs and friends or go on family bike rides. I am sitting on my back deck now, and people are jogging on the path behind my house.” The communal nature of the neighborhood extends to the homes themselves as residents hang decorative wreaths that change with the season. Alongside homes built over the last 30 years, a section of townhouses sits in the neighborhood's northeast corner, ranging in price from $349,000 to $425,000. Meanwhile, the community’s free-standing New Traditional and Mansion-style homes range from $373,000 to $860,000, comparatively lower than the average of communities to the east like Downtown Geneva and Eagle Brook. However, larger custom-built homes with amenities like in-ground pools and home gyms can reach up to $1.5 million.

It’s also home to the Exploration Room, which offers a look into the park's history, and the Observation Silo, showcasing views of the entire park.

When it’s time to shop, Trader Joe’s is on West Fabyan Parkway, 2 miles east, and fresh produce from Rustic Road Farm is directly north on Brundige Road. The Annual Mill Creek Back to School Carnival
Residents gather at Mill Creek Community Park on the Sunday following the first week of school for the Annual Mill Creek Back to School Carnival. The annual event brings residents together to celebrate the community’s students through food trucks, face painting, magic and more. During the holidays, some homeowners match Christmas lights with one another and even have a designated street of decked-out homes for neighbors to walk through. “Trick-or-treating is also huge here,” says Bruno. “There’s a house that makes homemade cotton candy, another one that gives out grilled hotdogs, and my husband and I bring out a popcorn machine for fresh popcorn.” Residents also have access to the many events of downtown Geneva, like Swedish Days, an annual summer festival of over 70 years, and the Geneva Arts Fair held along North 3rd Street in July.
