Spacious custom homes and new traditional builds in rural digs
With a wide range of home styles, a sweeping nature reserve as its local backyard and the space to enjoy life away from the bustle, North Gilberts balances suburban charm with rural comfort. Residential lanes with distinctive custom homes are complemented by traditional subdivision-style living, with four- and five-bedroom floorplans common among both styles. And nightlife, shopping and dining are often as simple as a trip across Freeman Road to one of the neighboring towns: the namesake Gilberts to the southeast, and Huntley to the west.
Unique custom homes and comfortable subdivision living in Gilberts
Refined custom homes and recently built new traditional homes sit along the residential lanes here, lending the area a shared appeal for suburban and eclectic tastes. Development in the area started in the late 1970s, with a few one-off homes popping up on selected lots. From the 1990s onward, more subdivisions and suburban stylings would emerge in the area. Custom property styles include everything from brick-lined Colonial Revival homes and French-influenced abodes with low roofs to rare contemporary ranch-style homes. While distinct in character, these are unified by their 1- to 2-acre lot sizes, lengthy driveways and manicured lawns. Homes in The Conservancy subdivision at the center of the community are more uniform in style, sharing a 21st century traditional look with brick elements and vinyl siding. Home values start at about $367,000 and can reach $765,000 or more. Open land listings in the area typically range from $35,000 to $85,000 for 1 to 2 acres. Some properties may have higher flooding risks, according to First Street’s Flood Factor index.
