Theodore Wirth Regional Park and Golden Valley golfing
The Theodore Wirth Regional Park is the largest in the Minneapolis park system, with a 759-acre preserve by a lake where nature partitions the hustle and bustle of downtown Minneapolis from the quiet suburban streets of Golden Valley. Athletes who prefer winter sports can visit Wirth Park for cross-country skiing or snow tubing when the snow piles up. At Wirth Lake, residents can enjoy a sunny day on the beach, fish from the well-maintained pier or kayak on the water. Wirth also offers activities like archery, disc golf, tennis, soccer and a playground for kids. Mountain biking is one of the most popular activities at Wirth Park, with eight off-road cycling trails of varying difficulty. Golden Valley Country Club and Wirth Golf Course
Golf is commonplace here. The Golden Valley Country Club has a private 18-hole course available at a monthly membership price of $716 per individual, occasionally used for professional tournaments, and it was designed by A.W. Tillinghast, a prominent golf course architect in the 19th century. Easy access from a convenient locale
This city is known for having an easy commute compared to other suburbs, only five miles east of downtown Minneapolis. Golden Valley has access to Route 100, which runs north to Interstate 94 and south to Interstate 394, providing a quick route west toward Minneapolis.
