A small, gated community known for its luxury amenities

The Country Club of Florida, also called the Village of Golf, is a small, gated community built on the rolling hills of a former dairy farm. Developed in the mid-1950s by Carleton Blunt and golf course architect Robert Bruce Harris, this neighborhood was imagined as a community where residents could play golf on a world-class course and have abundant social activities at their disposal. And that's exactly what they created. Today, the neighborhood spans roughly 500 acres and is comprised of 160 single-family homes. While the nationally recognized private course is the star, the neighborhood is also sought after for its lush greenery, large, multi-million-dollar homes, and sense of security.

Direct access to world-class golfing, a state-of-the-art clubhouse

The neighborhood is centered around the club and golf course, an 18-hole layout known for its prominent sand traps, picturesque views and rolling terrain. The invitation-only course, which has been remodeled several times since opening in 1956, has hosted several national events, such as the Western Golf Association's 56th Western Amateur Championship, the 1963 USGA Senior Women's Amateur Championship and the Western Junior Amateur Championship. Beyond the course, residents have access to a state-of-the-art clubhouse with a lifestyle center, restaurant, café and pool. There are also several spaces to play other sports, such as tennis, croquet and pickleball. Just around the corner is Barrier Free Park, popular for its accessibility. It features a shaded playground for folks of all abilities and a fitness zone with 17 pieces of exercise equipment, five of which are wheelchair friendly. Other features include an alligator-themed spray ground, paved walking paths and designated picnic areas. The neighborhood is also just under 6 miles from the popular Oceanfront Park beach.

Multi-million-dollar homes on a picturesque golf course

Homes sit far back from the road on manicured lawns, often encircled by a barrier of neatly trimmed hedges or courtyard walls. Yards are intricately landscaped, with a variety of trees and ferns creating a sense of privacy and seclusion between houses. However, residents can still look out over the golf course greens while lounging poolside in their backyards. Architecture is a point of pride in this neighborhood. "The houses are a real hodgepodge. No two are the same," says Karl Scott, Broker of Karl Scott Realty. He's been selling in the area for more than 15 years. Some incorporate classic Floridian touches such as brightly colored siding and Bermuda-style white, stepped roofs. Others are classic Mediterranean builds with arched entryways and red clay tiled roofs or sleek, modern homes with floor-to-ceiling windows. Most homes here are between 3,000 and 5,000 square feet and range from $2.4 million to $3.3 million, but there are a few outliers that range from 5,000 square feet to 12,000 square feet and can go for as much as $8 million.

The neighborhood is also just over 3 miles from Boynton Beach Mall, where there are over 120 retailers and restaurants, and 6 miles from downtown Delray Beach, a hub of arts and culture.

Proximity to South Military Trail, I-95

There are no major roads or highways behind the gates of this neighborhood, and the speed limit caps out at 25 miles per hour, meaning Golf is relatively quiet. "It's the sort of place where you don't have to worry if you let your kids play in the street because there's not a lot of traffic," says Karl Scott, Broker of Karl Scott Realty. The neighborhood is, however, not far from two busy commuter thoroughfares, South Military Trail and U.S. Interstate 95, the latter of which leads to bigger cities like Boca Raton and West Palm Beach, about 13 and 18 miles away, respectively. While there is no direct access to public transportation in the neighborhood, Public Palm Tran buses pick up along S Congress Avenue, about 2 miles from the center of the community. The closest major airport is Palm Beach County Park/Lantana, a regional airport that takes on overflow traffic from Palm Beach International. It's 9 miles away, about 7 miles closer than Palm Beach International Airport.
