"I've lived in the area for over 20 years," says Terrie Booker, a Realtor with Wilson Realty Co. "There are lots of trees; it's a very pretty environment. People take pride in their homes and yards."

All roads lead to downtown
Hugged by major highways, Lamrocton residents are just minutes away from downtown. "One of the things I most enjoyed about living around here was having easy access to the highway," says Booker. "You can get in and out of the triad so easily." Creek Ridge Road, which runs along the neighborhood's eastern edge, leads commuters to U.S Route 220 and Interstate 40. Commuters can get to the center of downtown in just 11 minutes.

Trees shade single-family homes
Split-levels and ranch-style homes make up Lamrocton's housing stock. Split-level homes sit at nearly 2,000 square feet and feature several bedrooms. Many sit on half an acre of forested land. Ranch-style homes in the area date back to the 1960s and sit on a quarter-acre of land. Most homes have a mix of exterior types, with brick and paneling being featured on the same home. Scenic walks along Hester Park's lake
"Smith High School's soccer field is always filled with people," says Booker. "There's a community club that competes there. When I lived in the area, I'd walk along the track with my mother. Even the school's swimming pool is open to the public for swimming lessons." Plenty of city parks are nearby, the closest being Hampton Park, which sits just east of the community. The 12-acre park offers amenities for local athletes, like a baseball field and a basketball court. Those who wish to cheer from the sidelines can grab a snack at the park's concession stand.
Hester Park is also nearby and features even more athletic amenities like tennis courts and a sand volleyball court. There's also a fitness trail that stretches just over a mile with stops at 13 outdoor workout stations. Hester Park's 6-acre lake is a prime spot for fishing, though many enjoy the view from the park's benches or walking trail. The park is popular for picnicking and hosting gatherings with family and friends. "We have seven shelters available to rent," says Portia Clowdis, an Administrative Assistant at the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department. "Four of the shelters fit 40 people, two fit 70 people and we have one that fits 200 people—great for larger events." Residents of Guilford County can rent these shelters at a discounted rate. "There's also a really pretty gazebo there," adds Clowdis. "Shelter number five is my personal favorite because it's quiet and right by the lake."

Big box stores and entertainment at Four Seasons Town Centre
Good shopping is easy for Lamrocton residents to find. About a mile north of the neighborhood is the Four Seasons Town Centre, a shopping mall featuring various recognizable retail brands like Dillard's, American Eagle and H&M. Beyond shopping, the mall offers plenty of activities. It's home to the Round 1 Bowling and Arcade Amusement Center, where visitors can sing karaoke, play arcade games, bowl, and play ping pong. Nearby is AmStar Cinemas, where locals can catch the latest flicks.
Pavilion is a popular Mediterranean restaurant serving Greek and Italian staples like pasta, pizza, souvlaki and shish kababs. There are even more dining options just north of Lamrocton on West Gate City Boulevard. Regular groceries can be grabbed at the Walmart Neighborhood Market, while specialty items are found at Li Ming's International Market.
