Only 6 miles from downtown, the neighborhood situates residents close to shopping, dining, scenic walking trails and highly-rated schools. "One of the great draws to the area is its convenience," says John Welch, a Real Estate Broker with John Welch Builders and Realty. Keep me in the Loop: the Greensboro Urban Loop
"You're right there by the Loop, which allows you to get around the city quickly," says Welch. The Greensboro Urban Loop is a 39.5-mile interstate highway beltway that, like the name suggests, loops around the entirety of Greensboro. This gives several surrounding suburbs quick access to other parts of the city, making commuting much easier. Getting to downtown Greensboro from The Reserve only takes 15 minutes. Access to a car is essential, as no bus stops are in or close to the neighborhood.
The Reserve is nestled in between several major Greensboro roads allowing for easy travel.

Stately Colonial Revivals shaded by trees
Large contemporary Colonial Revival homes from the 1990s make up most of the neighborhood. Red brick exteriors and large, arched windows characterize these homes, while cul-de-sacs lined with mature trees characterize residential areas. Homes usually rest on a third of an acre, with plenty of room to fence in the yard. Every house has roughly 2,500 square feet of living space and a two-car garage. Brick ranch-style homes can also be found at the lower end of the price range. On the whole, prices in The Reserve extend from $265,000 to $470,000.
The Reserve is full of many homes styles on well maintained lots.

Scenic trails and a science center at Country Park
When the outdoors beckon, Country Park is only a four-minute drive away. Some locals bring fishing rods to the park's two lakes, while others explore the water on a rented pedal boat. Other popular amenities include the dog park, playgrounds and the carousel. There are also scenic walking trails to explore—over 13 miles of them. One of the larger trails accessible from the park is the Atlantic and Yadkin Greenway, a nearly 8-mile paved pathway that stretches from Country Park, over Lake Brandt, to Bur-Mil Park. The trail leads hikers under highways, across busy roads and over the water, and along the way, it's easy to catch glimpses of Greensboro's abundant wildlife.
The Greensboro Science Center is the star of Country Park. The center offers plenty of programming for locals of all ages. "We offer sensory-friendly nights for our community members who may be sensitive to noise and light," says Tucker Campbell, the Science Center's Community Programs Manager. "We turn the lights down low and don't play any music. It makes the center accessible to those who may be on the spectrum." The center also hosts fun events like Ocean Day, Shark Week and Winter Wonderlights. Local teens can participate in the Junior Docent Program or the Camp Assistant Teen Program. "We're always looking for volunteers," says Campbell. "It's a great way for teens to get involved."
Families from The Reserve love heading to the Science Center to visit the penguins.

Ozzie's Ice Cream cools locals off on humid NC days
Many big box stores surround The Reserve, a few miles away in every direction, though many residents opt for the Trader Joe's that sits just west in the Brassfield Shopping Center. Close to Brassfield is Giacomo's Italian Market, where patrons have their pick of freshly made sausage and other deli meats. The shop's made-to-order Italian sandwiches are a favorite lunch pick among locals. Sweet tooths are easily satisfied by the many nearby ice cream spots and bakeries, such as Augustino Gusto Artisan Bakery, which specializes in warm, fresh bread and rich cheesecakes. Quiches and other savory treats are also available. On hot Greensboro afternoons, however, the preferred spot for a sweet treat is undoubtedly Ozzie's Ice Cream Shop.
The Reserve locals head to Ozzies where a giant waffle and scoops of icecream cool you down.
Giacomo's Italian Market is the perfect stop for all your Italian food needs in The Reserve.
