Youngs Mill sits on the southeast side of Greensboro, at a comfortable distance from the bustle of downtown but also bound on three sides by major highways: Interstates 40, 85 and 840. Although many homes surrounding Youngs Mill are tucked away on large, wooded lots, this neighborhood has something closer to a suburban feel while still offering prices that are low for Greensboro. “Youngs Mill is a more developed neighborhood that’s popular with first-time homebuyers and people wanting to purchase reasonably priced houses,” says Roger Abbott, Realtor with Keller Williams Central who has been selling homes across the Piedmont Triad for 5 years. Home styles are also fairly eclectic, ranging from small ranchers to stately new traditional builds with French Country influence.

A diverse selection of homes, from small to large
Subdivisions differ across the neighborhood. Sharon Donna Drive offers spacious new traditional builds with stately brick facades, steeply sloped roofs reminiscent of French Country homes, and 2,500 to 4,000 square feet of interior space. On the other hand, the new traditional homes found in Gramercy Park West tend to have a mix of vinyl and brick siding and offer closer to 2,500 square feet of interior space, sitting on quarter-acre lots. And then there are streets like Chippendale Trail, lined with smaller ranch-style homes enmeshed in the forest. Other subdivisions have a mix of ranch-style and new traditional homes, with the occasional Colonial Revival, split-level or Cape Cod. Recently built subdivisions tend to include sidewalks. Aside from the midcentury ranchers, the neighborhood is on the newer side, with a median construction year of 2001. Detached home prices typically range from $200,000 to $600,000, depending on square footage. Townhouses are on the neighborhood's south end along Chestnut Bend Drive. They usually go for between $250,000 and $350,000.
Large brick homes sitting on moderate plots of land are quite common in Youngs Mill.
There is also a mix of Colonial Revival homes in Youngs Mill.
