While the mill that drove Judson's economy for decades is no longer operating, the lifestyle and heritage are being preserved in the homes and a transformed vibrant mixed-use space. Kimberly Guest, broker and owner of Guest Group, LLC, says, "Judson is up-and-coming and is transforming into its own little community outside Greenville. It's exciting to see the updates they're making." Judson Mill was once the largest operating textile mill in Greenville and has been renovated to contain everything from luxury lofts to local businesses in the massive building. Early 20th-century homes make up for the rest of Judson's residential space, and one massive draw for homebuyers includes its proximity to both the West End Historic District and downtown Greenville. Within a 3-mile radius, Judson residents can access some of the most popular Greenville park areas, large commercial districts and local events.

Homes
Hundreds of clapboard-sided mill and bungalow homes built in the 1920s and '30s make up much of Judson's detached housing stock. Built within walking distance of the historic Judson Mill, the two-to-four-bedroom homes sit on small lots with little yard space. Grassy areas primarily sit in the back of homes, while sidewalks line the front. "Prices range from $200,000 to $400,000, which offers an affordable price point for buyers so close to downtown Greenville," says Sarah Gilley, Realtor with Coldwell Banker Caine. "It's an excellent investment opportunity for first-time buyers because many houses are being renovated or torn down and rebuilt."
Shopping and Dining
Dating back to 1912, Judson Mill is the oldest in Greenville and was once part of the Mill Crescent. After a $75 million renovation, the textile machinery was replaced by apartments, a market, restaurants and entertainment venues. Locals frequently walk to The Magnetic South Brewery, which is beloved for its craft drinks, bar food, arcade games and pool tables. It sits next to BlocHaven, an indoor rock-climbing gym, alongside the non-profit Feed and Seed Co., which offers locally sourced produce. Music lovers flock to The Foundry at Judson Mills, where live bands and singers of virtually every genre take the stage throughout the week. Heading about a mile north on White Horse Road, big-name errand stops like Walmart and Aldi can be found, alongside national chain retail and restaurants.
Events
Judson Mill's community calendar advertises several weekly events, from trivia and karaoke nights at Magnetic South Brewery to live music performances at The Foundry.
Schools
Public schools fall under the Greenville County School District, and there are several schools kids can be zoned to. Children can start at Welcome Elementary, which opened in the early 1900s and receives a B-plus on Niche. Students filter into Tanglewood Middle School, which gets a C-plus, before heading to either Carolina High or Greenville Senior High. With an overall A and taking the top spot for standout high schools in the city, Greenville Senior High students can apply for one of three magnet programs – law, finance or business.
Parks
Shoeless Joe Jackson Memorial Park is less than half a mile away and features an 8-acre lit baseball facility, walking trails, and a playground. Judson's proximity to downtown Greenville means that residents have access to any of the several green spaces in the city. Unity Park is one of the city's newest additions and has everything from four playgrounds to splash pads and basketball courts. Flowing through the middle of the park is the Reedy River, which is lined by the Swamp Rabbit Trail, a 22-mile path built along an old railroad track from downtown Greenville to Travelers Rest.
Transportation
Judson is bordered by the major thoroughfares of Route 123 and Anderson Road, which can be used to connect to Interstate 185. Bon Secours' St. Francis Downtown location sits near the neighborhood's eastern side, offering everything from emergency hospital services to outpatient wellness. Judson is just 1 mile from the West End Historic District, 3 miles from downtown Greenville and 18 miles from the Spartanburg-Greenville International Airport.
