Modest community close to energy plants
Sitting outside Hartsville city limits, Pine Ridge is a modest community off the highway with just a handful of houses. “It’s a quiet community where people looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city live,” says Deborah Gandy, a broker and relocation specialist for Coldwell Banker with over 40 years of experience. In addition to living outside the city, the area is also close to major employers in the Robinson Nuclear Plant and the Duke Energy Darlington Plant. “The plants bring a lot of engineers and other people in,” Gandy says. “We work with relocation companies that help bring people there.” Pine Ridge also earns a favorable ranking of 2 out of 10 on the CAP Index crime score, compared to the national average of 4.
Ranch-styles and multi-level homes
There are only a handful of houses in Pine Ridge, and very few have hit the market. Ranch-styles and multi-level homes with traditional features are among the more common constructions. Prices typically vary from around $165,000 for a more modest ranch-style to about $305,000 for a larger, multi-level home. Front and back yards are prevalent, with some properties using the front yard as a driveway. Backyards will run up to the woods, with a chain link fence separating them. Houses sit along narrow streets without sidewalks and no space for street parking. Towering oak trees fill the area and provide a canopy over several homes.
