Heading to the lake or the mountaintop

People head outside of the neighborhood to Lake Helena to fish, boat and hunt, or to hike around the tree-lined shores of the Helena Valley Reservoir. “There are trails for hiking and running.” says Anita Sherley, a Broker with Big Sky Brokers. “The trails are everywhere.” Heading towards Helena proper, hikers and mountain bikers can test their endurance against the terrain of Mount Helena, which has a variety of trails that begin just outside the limit of the city. There are also hiking trails to the east around the Helena Valley Reservoir, and along the Missouri River, about eight miles away.
