Scenic, slow-paced living below the San Bernardino Mountains

Named after a resort on the French Riviera, Mentone was the health spa capital of Southern California when 1880s-era Angelenos took the train inland to soak up this bucolic locale's fresh mountain air. Today, “Mentone is popular for the privacy and views and for its proximity to Redlands. That’s where people go for shopping and dining,” says Eliza Othman, Realtor at Keller Williams Riverside Central with over 20 years of experience. Mentone residents enjoy quiet, relaxed living roughly 15 miles from Downtown San Bernadino.

Natural beauty in all seasons

Between the San Bernadino Mountain views and the lush citrus groves, Mentone is abundant in natural scenery. Nearby hiking and biking paths include the Morton Peak Trail along State Route 38, which leads to a babbling brook. South of the neighborhood, Ridge Trail carves through Crafton Hills for views of distant snow-capped mountains or yellow wildflowers, depending upon the season. Greenspot Farms is particularly popular in the fall when families visit to pick their pumpkins from the patch and hop on the haunted hayride. During the holiday season, it’s the go-to spot to pick out a Christmas tree.
