Lawn Acres offers a relaxed Hollywood vibe with vintage homes and a friendly neighborhood feel.
Friendly neighbors in south Hollywood
If you move to Lawn Acres, you’re welcome. The neighborhood, tucked into the established communities of south Hollywood, offers attractive housing stock, easy access to retail and, most of all, a comfortable place to settle down. “I would say the biggest highlight is that it’s family-oriented,” says Vickie Skinner, a Realtor with Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate Florida 1st. “At Christmas, a fire truck drives through the neighborhood, and former clients were Mr. and Mrs. Claus, before they moved. Neighbors get together all the time and have barbecues. If you’re looking for a friendly neighborhood and a family atmosphere, this is the place for you.”
Pride of ownership on display
Neighborhood housing is highlighted by midcentury homes built primarily in the late 1950s. Most offer carports or attached garages, and many feature appealing landscaping. “The houses are a little bit older, but with all the new families moving in, there are a lot of renovations,” says Skinner, who recently sold one of those renovated homes. “The neighborhood is in good condition, and residents take care of their lawns.” A unique network of sidewalks, built farther from the street than usual, offers walkability. Prices typically range from the low $400,000s to the low $600,000s. The neighborhood is far enough from the Atlantic coast that flooding is not a concern. However, homes are at high risk of wind damage, especially during hurricane season, and insurance rates are likely to reflect that.

Miramar Bakery in neighboring Beverly Park is a popular family-owned spot known for its Cuban pastries and breakfast sandwiches.

The center offers indoor gathering spaces and outdoor amenities, including a lighted basketball court. Residents can venture about 4 miles east to experience ArtsPark at Young Circle, a premier recreational and entertainment complex downtown anchored by an amphitheater. The city’s oceanfront, which is home to the iconic Hollywood Beach Broadwalk, is only 2 miles farther east.
