A southwest Chicago suburb with a semi-rural twist
In Homer Glen, subdivisions and big-box stores coexist with forests and family farms. Located between Orland Park, New Lenox and Lemont, this southwest suburb of Chicago was incorporated as a village in 2001. “It is pretty similar to the surrounding suburbs in the area, but there are bigger lots, you get more privacy and there’s definitely more nature,” says Dorothy Jarog, a real estate broker with Compass who helps homebuyers and sellers in Homer Glen. “The biggest thing that makes the Homer Glen community distinguishable are its parks, trails and forest preserves. There are quite a bit of golf courses for the golfers out here as well.”

Established homes on large or wooded lots
Homer Glen’s median home price is around $500,000, higher than the national median and Orland Park, but lower than Lemont. Despite the village’s young age, most homes are established. “There's a lot of existing homes that have been renovated, and just maybe a handful of new developments,” Jarog says. Most hail from the late 1990s and early 2000s. Trim, wooded lawns follow curving streets with clean sidewalks in many subdivisions, while secluded options can sit on over an acre. Some homes back up to community ponds, farms and houses of worship. Empty lots are also for sale, with large, agricultural-zoned swaths available in South Homer Glen .

I am committed to helping my clients achieve their goals for buying or selling real estate. I have the best job in the world! I am putting people into homes. I could not enjoy it if I did not feel I was helping people.
My entire career has had to do with one aspect or another of Real Estate from mergers and acquisitions to being a loan officer and after that, working for home builders for almost 20 years. There I showed homes, prepared closing documents and everything in between. I have a BS Degree in Finance so I love working with numbers.
This variety of experience gives me a broad understanding of the Real Estate industry. Becoming a Realtor was very natural. It feels like everything in my life led up to and contributed to this moment.
