Clinton Park Tri-Community has a "rurban" vibe
"Rurban,” the fusion of rural and urban, is a term used to describe an area that straddles the line between city density and country living. It's also the perfect description for the Clinton Park Tri-Community in Houston. Its location, just 10 miles from the urban core, means it’s close to popular bars and restaurants. But it’s the spacious yards and rural ambiance that really make Clinton Park Tri-Community stand out. “That neighborhood is up and coming. There are a lot of new homes being built in that area,” says Valeria Vasquez, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty, and a native of Houston. “More and more of the new construction is being completed, so interest in the area is really growing. It’s investor friendly. Homes are only going to go up in value.”
Homebuyers are drawn to the area for its proximity to jobs. It’s close to the Port of Houston and a manufacturing hub along Interstate 610 that runs through the middle of the neighborhood. “It’s a blue-collar area,” Vasquez says. “It’s very much a demographic where there are a lot of hands-on laborers and construction workers."
The Clinton Park Tri-Community is directly east of Downtown Houston.

Clinton Park Tri-Community offers a mix of vintage and new construction
Clinton Park Tri-Community offers a blend of contemporary single-family houses and modern multifamily duplexes among original 1940s beam-and-block cottages. Most neighborhoods situated a few miles from downtown are heavily populated and low on elbow room. But building bungalows on roomy lots was baked into the neighborhood’s DNA. Most of the properties were designed to accommodate gardens and livestock. Even today, it’s not unusual to see hens and roosters roaming the neighborhood.
Homes here typically sell for around $200,000. A vintage three-bedroom cottage may cost $150,000, while a brand-new, three-bedroom could fetch $250,000. “The new construction homes are gorgeous, but some parts of the neighborhood look more run down,” Vasquez says. “It does take a while to sell homes in the area. It could take several months.”
