Fairbanks-Northwest Crossing offers affordability on Houston's west side
As Houston continues its rapid growth, so too is Fairbanks-Northwest Crossing. Brimming with new housing developments and with more on the horizon, Fairbanks-Northwest Crossing is becoming a destination to consider for homebuyers in the area, especially given its proximity to shopping hot spots and restaurants. "A lot of new developments and town house communities are coming to the area, and it's really breathing new life and adding even more value," says Mattie Anderson, General Manager of the Forrest Lake Townhouse Association in Fairbanks-Northwest Crossing. "The growth has been taking place over the last 10 years, and Fairbanks is really booming now."

Detached homes and townhouses are popular throughout Fairbanks-Northwest Crossing
Established ranch homes sit beside larger Craftsman-style and contemporary properties, though Fairbanks-Northwest Crossing also features several pockets of townhouse communities, some featuring modern architecture as others boast New Traditional accents. "Residents in the townhouse communities take a lot of pride in where they live," says Anderson. "Some have even established social committees that plan monthly events, and everyone is able to include their input on what they should be." Detached homes usually price between $200,000 and $400,000, though larger, newer residences with ample square footage can top out closer to $600,000. As noted by local Realtor Cesar Martinez of BlueRoof Real Estate, who has sold dozens of homes around Greater Houston, properties within Houston's 610 Loop are among the most expensive in the city. Further outside the Loop, prices begin to decline. For this reason, more homebuyers are flocking to areas like Fairbanks-Northwest Crossing for its affordability.

It's a poor, semi-unsafe side of the city. It isn't too bad; there are job opportunities, basic stores and such.. The only downside I'd say is the people.. There are dangerous people around here. But I've lived in worse places.
