Split-life living in southeast Texas

Lawndale-Wayside, a neighborhood just about 5 miles outside of Houston, is a cozy suburb with access to city living. “People move here for the affordability and proximity to downtown, where most jobs are,” says Loren Miner, a Principal for Eastwood Commercial Realty who has lived in Houston for nearly a decade. With Houston so close, residents are near major employers in the aerospace, aviation, manufacturing and medical fields. Along with young professionals, Lawndale-Wayside attracts families because of its nearby childcare options and public schools. Outdoor enthusiasts relish the area's expansive parks and woodlands, while golfers and hikers use the Gus Wortham Park Golf Course. With connections to the Brays Bayou Greenway trail, easy access to major highways, and more than 30 public transit stops, the neighborhood has several options for getting to Houston and surrounding areas.

There is quite a large variety of restaurants from fast food to regular restaurants. Although I wish there were more restaurants of other types of food, like korean or greek. There are mostly Mexican and Chinese food restaurants in my area.
