Oak Lake homes sport classic 1990s charm
The general Oak Lake area refers to a combination of several small communities, including Oak Lake Court, Oak Lake Estates, Village of Oak Lake and Hidden Lake Estates. Most homes across these communities were built in the 1990s, and Traditional and Georgian-inspired details like red brick facades, arched entryways and large dormer windows are prevalent throughout the area. Lot sizes range from 6,000 square feet to a full acre and are filled with manicured lawns, well-kept gardens and statuesque oak trees. “This is a highly sought-after address that’s becoming more modern every day," says Tamara Edwards, a Realtor at HomeSmart. "The available land makes for a lot of new homes still being built here, and that keeps pulling in new residents.” Oak Lake homes typically sell for between $300,000 to $500,000. Oak Lake students are served by the Fort Bend Independent School District, which earned an overall A grade on Niche. Duhacsek and Cullinan Parks span over 800 acres
Duhacsek Park is at the center of Oak Lake’s many subdivisions on Old Richmond Road. Jordan Schilleci, the owner of Jo & Co. Realty, describes the park’s 50 acres as a “tranquil oasis adorned with majestic, hand-grafted pecan trees” that is dotted with volleyball courts, baseball fields and a quarter-acre pond. “What I love most about the area is its proximity to Duhacsek Park,” Schilleci says. “It serves as a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and is an asset to the community.” Just south of Oak Lake, the sprawling Cullinan Park on Old Richmond Road covers 750 acres of native forests and prairie land. As one of the largest nature parks in Houston, it is packed with hiking trails and wildlife habitats centered around White Lake.

Fishing enthusiasts can head to Cullinan Park for east access to piers overlooking vast lakes.

Grand Parkway connects to Sugar Land and Houston
The Oak Lake area has become increasingly popular partly due to its easy access to the Grand Parkway. Both the Grand Parkway and South Texas 6, which runs on the area's eastern side, lead to Sugar Land, 6 miles away. The city has the Global Select at Sugar Land Regional Airport and multiple acclaimed hospitals, including Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. Downtown Houston is 23 miles away and can be accessed via Interstate 69.
