Small suburban homes just minutes away from shopping and excellent schools
Bolindale is a small suburban community in southern Howland Township in northeastern Ohio. The township is named for the Howland family, who settled in the area after arriving in Plymouth on the Mayflower. The township was sparsely populated until the mid-20th century when residential development skyrocketed with the construction of communities like Bolindale. The community is “very small, but affordable and less than two minutes from Niles and shopping centers,” says Century 21 Realtor William Broxson, “and locals live in a great school district.”
Humble brick bungalows and established Cape Cods in Bolindale
Quiet avenues and traditional suburban blocks make up the residential landscape of Bolindale. Most locals live in Bolindale’s mix of single-family houses, condos and apartments. “Bolindale locals live in one of the cheaper school districts; homes tend to be around $100 per square foot, as opposed to surrounding areas that tend to be $150 per square foot.” Home styles range from modest brick bungalows and Cape Cods to expansive ranch-style and ornate Queen Anne houses. Apartments are just a short walk from nearby shopping and service vendors along Route 422. Home prices are relatively affordable, ranging from $59,000 for smaller bungalows to $230,000 for larger ranch and split-level homes.
